Our lab

Our values

As biodiversity conservation scientists we value diversity in all its forms. We value cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, biological, and genetic diversity.

We believe that a less diverse university community is prone to like-minded biases and is less likely to challenge dominant worldviews. Our lab is committed to creating an inclusive, equitable, accessible, and welcoming environment. We are committed to:

in this lab we believe

Science is Real

Love is love

Black lives matter

Feminism is for everyone

Conservation is for all

Immigrants are welcome

For PHD and MSC students:
Due to the recent changes in funding, the cohort sizes in our ESPM PhD program have been reduced, and not all faculty in our department are able to recruit a student. As a result, Prof. Echeverri is not recruiting new Masters or PHD students for the next 3 admission cycles (Fall 27, Fall 28, Fall 29).
